We are a very welcoming and friendly group, all affected in some way by Parkinson’s and we have come together with a common purpose, which is to support and care for each other.
From the moment you, your loved one or friend receives a diagnosis of Parkinson’s, you do not need to be alone with your thoughts and concerns. We are here for you.
Where we meet
We meet on the first Wednesday of each month at the Haven Centre in Crawley Down. Each meeting is different, but generally we have a guest speaker; from popular poets to top Neurologists and Doctors. There are refreshments and plenty of time to mingle and share experiences with each other. We are also grateful for volunteers who help us set up and pack away on these days.
What we do
As a branch we are totally self-funded, and run entirely by volunteers. We do a lot of fund raising, for example: collections, quiz nights, BBQs, raffles and sponsored events like walking, running or swimming.
We use these funds to offer our members:
• Subsidised exercise & therapy sessions.
• Subsidised outings and lunches.
• Free care in your own home in times of need.
• Informal get-togethers in various locations.
• A quarterly newsletter “Shaking Hands”.
